Figure 1. The Southern Beardless Tyrant is common in the interior of Ceará. Secondary growth Caatinga appears to be a suitable habitat for this species.
Figure 2. This bird is the same as shown in fig. 1. It was busy building its nest, and did not bother about me taking pictures from 6-7 meters distance. The nest was located about one meter above the ground, without much cover or shade. This did not seem to be a very appropriate place, and indeed, a few days later, I found the nest abandoned.
